About the event

Media writing for your small business:

-How honing in your small business' narrative can help you put together the perfect media kit.

-We will discuss what's in a media kit, how to write a press release, how these things will help you get local media's attention.

One to Know Magazine is a woman owned and edited publication that showcases women of Fort Worth who are inspring and empowering others. Owner Adrienne Martinez and executive editor Jocelyn Tatum have created a BEAUTIFUL publication that looks and feels like art while capturing local herstory. (Finger snaps)

These ladies are on a mission to support and empower women of all ages and any race through traditional journalism, storytelling, illustrations and photography. This magazine supports diversity, inclusion and equality for women.

Jocelyn Tatum- is the executive editor of the One to Know Magazine and she will be leading us through our Press/Media Writing 101 class. Jocelyn has has been publishing narratives long and short for 14 years and teaching journalism for 11.  She has an undergraduate degree in philosophy and a master’s degree in narrative journalism. Several of her stories have been picked up by national news organizations. She loves to write about people and their imperfect perfection.
